Kimilainen to miss Misano W-Series round

Emma Kimilainen will have to miss the third round of WSeries in Misano later this weekend, after having been forced to sit out the Belgian race in Zolder for a health issue.

Finnish driver Emma Kimilainen will have to skip the Italian round of WSeries in Misano, after been consulted by Hintsa Performance (WSeries health and fitness personnel) to sit out this weekend's race in Misano due to a health concern.

The news comes after Kimilainen was replaced by WSeries reserve driver Vivien Keszthelyi in Zolder three weeks ago for the same reason. Kimilainen wrote through her social media profiles that an old injury had been activated by the crash in Hockenheim, in the opening round of WSeries championship.

"I'm very disappointed not to be able to race at Misano this weekend, but I understand the advice I've been given and I'll abide by it." - commented Kimilainen. "I feel I've been on top of the W Series car in the practice sessions and qualifying sessions I completed at Hockenheim and Zolder, and it’s obviously a great pity that, through no fault of my own, I didn't get a chance to translate that pace into race results."

Both WSeries' reserve drivers, Sarah Bovy and Vivien Keszthelyi, will drive on both days in Misano, completing a line-up of 19 entrants.

We wish Emma Kimilainen a full and speed recovery.

WSeries will be back on track this weekend in Misano, Italy.

In Emma's words:

“My hope is now to be fully fit for Norisring in early July, so that I can finish the W Series season with three strong performances at Norisring, at Assen and at Brands Hatch.”
