More technical gremlins for Jamie Chadwick in Austrian Race 2

After Saturday's quick end to race 1, British Prema driver Jamie Chadwick finished P10 after recording more gearbox issues that hindered the second race of the Spielberg round for the 22-year old lady.

Jamie Chadwick, British driver for Prema Powerteam, continued her challenging weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria as she finished the second race in P10.

After a tough round at Paul Ricard, more bad luck this weekend hit the 2019 W Series champion, as the young lady from Bath, UK, was ahead of Andrea Cola and Frenchman Gillian Henrion. Starting late from the pits again, the driver of the family-run Gillian Track Events team came in after the first lap and did not resume the race.

Pole man Gianluca Petecof, driver of the weekend so far, was passed at turn 1 after the start by Oliver Rasmussen who drove a safe race and won his second race of the season in front of his teammates Petecof and Arthur Leclerc (all three Prema Powerteam).

It was a race without much action and overtakes except for Alessandro Famularo, who made his debut in the series for Van Amersfoort Racing - who overtook several competitors after he had dropped down the order at the start.

In the last couple of laps, it seemed that Jamie Chadwick could get closer to Nico Göhler (KIC Motorsport), but she was ultimately not able to catch up with the German before the chequered flag and finished in tenth place, 25 seconds clear of Andrea Cola (Monolite Racing).

The British racer has been slowed down by a series of technical gremlins since Friday practice, where she struggled for pace. After a very promising Qualifying 1 where she was sixth fastest, the 22-year old lady was again out of contention in Q2 for technical difficulties.

Saturday's first race was cut short by a first lap incident with Konsta Lappalainen.

"Technical issues in Race 2 again. We try to push for the final race of the weekend."
