Swedish TCR star Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky extended her deal with PWR Racing for two more seasons in STCC, as the first woman race winner in the series now aims to become the first female champion.
Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinksky joined the popular STCC in 2017 and was the first woman to ever win a race in the premier Scandinavian championship. She also became the first female driver to secure a pole position in the series' history, and she would later claim more podiums to her name with top-team PWR Racing.
“I have together with PWR reached the dream to be the first female driver to win a race in the STCC, now I’m looking forward to work with them towards my next dream, to be the first female to win the championship” said Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinksky.
The 28-year old from Karlstad, Sweden, is an ambassador for the FIA Women In Motorsport commission and one of the most prominent figures in the female racing movement in Europe.
She will again team up with Robert Dahlgren at PWR Racing, as both will get back behind the wheel of the new CUPRA Leon Competición TCR. Because of the brand's reinforced focus on the Swedish market, the team will be renamed CUPRA Dealer Team instead of SEAT Dealer Team.
The 2021 STCC season starts on June 4th at Ljungbyhed Park in Skåne, Sweden, and will include six racing weekends. The final round is expected to take place on 8th to 9th October at Ring Knutstorp.
