Alina Loibnegger will step up to EuroNASCAR Pro, as the Austrian returns in a Racingfuel Motorsport entry after two seasons in the EN2 division, where she claimed 8 wins in the Lady Trophy.
Coming off two positive seasons in the EuroNASCAR 2 division in 2021 and 2022, Austrian driver Alina Loibnegger will step up to EuroNASCAR Pro with Racingfuel Motorsport in 2023, as she looks forward to new challenges in the highest class of European NASCAR championship. Loibnegger started racing at the age of 12 in karting and made the step into the world of NASCAR as she competed in the Club Challenge 2019. Having progressed to EN2, Alina currently has 8 race wins in the Lady Trophy, and finished 17th overall and second in the Lady Trophy in 2022. At her second season in the EuroNASCAR second division, she made remarkable progress and scored her first top tens: she was tenth in Most, Zolder and Grobnik, ending the 2022 season on a high. While she now faces new challenges in the higher category, Loibnegger proved to be a reliable driver and a great asset for Racingfuel Motorsport. Her sister Melinda will be her race spotter again to guide her through the race weekends. "I want to improve personally and also perform better on the track," said Loibnegger at the announcement. "It's important to keep learning and I'm looking forward to a season with a lot of great people around me. I'm fully motivated to start the season with this new challenge and I know that the team will support me in my development." "We want to pick up where we left off last year and I'm ready to give it my all", she continued, describing the unique NASCAR environment. "I love the EuroNASCAR atmosphere! It's the fans and the people that make the series so special. And the cars are awesome and provide pure racing.” "We are all happy to have Alina back in our ranks this year", added Ferruccio Finkbohner, Team Manager of the Swiss team. "She has the talent and is very ambitious. We are sure that she will prove her pace and speed. EuroNASCAR PRO has a high level, but the whole team believes in Alina and everyone is confident that we will continue to build on the success we had last year.” The first event of the 2023 season will take place from 5th to 6th May at Valencia with the qualifying and race action streamed live on YouTube.
