Arianna Casoli to continue in EuroNASCAR with Caal Racing

Italian experienced driver Arianna Casoli extended her contract with CAAL Racing and will enter her fifth season in the European NASCAR second division.

Italian driver Arianna Casoli extended her contract with compatriot team CAAL Racing and will enter her fifth NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season. The experienced racer from Reggio Emilia, Italy, will compete to defend her EuroNASCAR 2 Lady Trophy.

In 2019, Casoli finished 15th in the points standings of the EuroNASCAR 2 division, claiming an 11th place as best finish in the Zolder round. With 47 series starts, Arianna is one of the most experienced drivers in the championship and a fan favourite in her bright yellow #54 car.

“I am really happy to be part of the CAAL family for the fifth consecutive season and to continue driving the #54. It is a car I grew very fond of along the years,” - she said.

“I can’t wait for the season to start and I want to not only defend the Lady Trophy but also try to do better than last year’s third place against the Legend drivers. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is great because it gives you opportunities to compete at all levels in a strong and numerous field.”

EuroNASCAR 2 will thus feature a very interesting battle for the Female Trophy, with American Julia Landauer making her European debut with Belgian team PK Carsports.

Casoli is also set to make her racing return to Vallelunga, as the home of the EuroNASCAR Italian round was moved from Franciacorta to the venue nearby Rome.

“I am excited to race at Vallelunga. It is a special track for me and I took part in my very first touring car race there. Then when I came back to racing in 2015 I started from the pole, again in touring cars, due to the inverted grid in my first wet race in 12 year,” - she added.

“I can’t wait to get back in the car and get the season started.”

The 2020 European NASCAR's calendar is set to travel to seven racetracks, for a total of 13 races. The Dutch round of Venray, the only oval on the racing schedule, will host a single race, while the last three rounds (Playoffs) will feature double points.

The season starts in Valencia, Spain, on 25/26 April at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.
