RC Motorsport announced its first driver for the upcoming TCR Italy season: the Rome-based team will line up Carlotta Fedeli for her first full campaign in a sequential-gearbox equipped car. She will drive the Cupra TCR in the series promoted by ACI Sport.

Fedeli, though, is certainly no newbie of touring cars: she started her racing career in 2007, contesting national and international competitions until she stepped up to some of the most popular Italian touring car series such as Mini Challenge, Seat Ibiza Cup and CITS.

Fedeli made her debut in the TCR Italian Series in 2015, and made a one-off appearance in the 2016 TCR International Series.

In 2019, Fedeli battled for the title in the TCR DSG Endurance championship, where she claimed three podiums. In 2020, she raced a Volkswagen Golf GTI in the DSG class of TCR Italy, before moving to the Coppa Italia Turismo, in the RC Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS DSG.

She would claim the title in the DSG class in 2021.

After a racing hiatus following her second pregnancy in 2022, Fedeli has now resumed preparation for her 2023 season with the team operated by her father Roberto.

"Both for me and for the RC Motorsport team it will be the debut with a sequential gearbox in the TCR Italy, having previously taken part in it always in the DSG series" - Carlotta explained. "I am really happy to finally be able to compete with all the other drivers on the best performing cars of the TCR package " - she added, one month prior to the opening round of the championship.

The series - which saw close to 40 car fields in 2022 - will feature a six-event calendar, starting from the 21-23 April round at Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola.
