Chantal Prinz and her Hofor Racing teammates took a brilliant victory in the 2025 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi and were therefore crowned Creventic Middle East Trophy champions in the GT3 AM class, with Chantal also securing the Ladies Trophy title.

Just one week after the 24 Hours of Dubai, where the team battled in the front-running positions of the GT3 AM class before an issue halted their race with less than eight hours to go while in fifth place, the drivers of the #11 Hofor Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 bounced back spectacularly and ran a smooth and consistent race that ultimately resulted in class victory and fifth place overall at Yas Marina Circuit.

The multiple 24H Series GT team champions perfectly managed the strategy, with Alexander Prinz, Chantal Prinz, Michael Kroll, and Timo Rumpfkeil alternating behind the wheel, making no mistakes throughout the hectic stages, including neutralizations, and securing the deserved title after the Middle East leg of the Creventic championship.

It was a quick turnaround for the Swiss team, who had to fix the issues from the Dubai marathon a few days earlier and get back up to speed at the world-famous Abu Dhabi circuit for the fifth running of the Michelin 6-hour race.

The quartet however led the first testing session on Friday and were just outside the top five in class in the official practice, where five cars were covered by seven-tenths of a second.

Later in the day, Alexander Prinz took the wheel of the #11 Hofor Mercedes for Q1 and set a 1:53.754, third overall and top in AM class—a really strong run.

Timo Rumpfkeil then took over for the second qualifying session and recorded a 1:54.637, placing fourth in class.

Chantal Prinz completed Q3, setting a 1:59.897. The team achieved a combined average of 1:56.096 and would start P21 overall and P6 in GT3 AM.

On Sunday morning, Alexander Prinz started the race in the Hofor Mercedes from fifth in class and P20 overall. The grid featured another stellar lineup just one week after the series' flagship event at Dubai, with a brilliant field of 52 cars across all classes for the 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi.

In a chaotic start, the SMP Racing Mercedes, driven by former F1 driver Sergey Sirotkin, took the overall lead. Despite the hectic first laps, Alexander Prinz had a great start, climbing to third in GT3 AM and 16th overall by the end of the first lap.

Prinz moved into second in class as a few cars pitted under caution. After his own pit stop, the Hofor Mercedes rejoined in fifth but quickly began recovering positions. As more GT3 cars pitted during the second hour, Prinz climbed to seventh overall and retook second in class.

With 90 minutes into the race, Prinz cycled into the AM and overall lead as more cars that had pitted under Code 60 now made their second stops. He handed over the car to Chantal Prinz after pitting from the lead on lap 50.

Chantal took the wheel with a comfortable margin over the AM competition and even led overall for several laps. Though she eventually dropped behind GT3 Pro and ProAm cars, she maintained a strong pace in the 2:03 range, keeping the Hofor Mercedes firmly ahead in the AM class.

A Code 60 caution with 3 hours and 30 minutes to go provided Chantal with some breathing space. After completing a solid stint, Chantal pitted for fuel and handed the car over to Michael Kroll, who rejoined the race in 16th overall and fourth in class. Kroll settled into third in GT3 AM before pitting again under caution for refueling.

Timo Rumpfkeil took over the Hofor Racing Mercedes with just under two hours remaining. His pace was quicker than the other GT3 AM competitors, and he began closing the gap to the class-leading #69 Simpson Motorsport Audi.

Before the final round of pit stops, Rumpfkeil climbed into the class lead, positioning the team well for the finish. In the final hour, Alexander Prinz returned to the driver’s seat, retaining the class lead with a 25-second gap over the Simpson Motorsport Audi driven by Vladykin. As the Audi made a final pit stop, Hofor Racing extended their lead to over a minute.

With 12 minutes remaining, a late Code 60 caution was triggered by the 701 Vortex stopping on track. The race resumed with just a few minutes on the clock, and Prinz brought the car home to take a dominant GT3 AM class victory for Hofor Racing, finishing fifth overall—an outstanding result for the Swiss team and for Chantal Prinz.

Prinz, who had already enjoyed significant success in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), including class victories in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, now adds the 24H Series Middle East Trophy title to her racing résumé.

Hofor Racing will continue their campaign in the European legs of the Creventic-promoted championship; they are scheduled to run the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo for the first time at the 12 Hours of Mugello in March.
