After stepping up from two seasons of F1 Academy, Chloe Chambers began a new chapter in 2026 by moving into sports car racing and contesting her rookie Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America campaign with RAFA Racing alongside Ian Porter in the #81 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. The American adapted quickly to the powerful one-make GT machinery, immediately showing encouraging speed and steadily building confidence through the opening rounds of the season.
Chambers' breakthrough came at Watkins Glen International, where she secured her first Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America podium with second place in the ProAm class after a strong recovery drive in Race 2. The result followed earlier signs of promise at Laguna Seca, where qualifying problems forced the RAFA Racing duo to start from the back in both races, yet Chambers impressed with two determined charge-through-the-field runs that produced her first ProAm top-five finish and highlighted the racecraft that has made her transition from single-seaters to GT racing so encouraging.
Arriving at Road America for the fourth round of the season, Chambers looked to build on that momentum at one of North America's fastest and most demanding road circuits - and she would leave Wisconsin with her first Lamborghini Super Trofeo victory.
The weekend immediately got off to a highly encouraging start. In the opening practice session, Chambers posted a best lap of 2:08.003 to finish fourth fastest in the ProAm class; she backed that performance up in FP2, once again ending the session fourth in class with a 2:08.897, confirming that the RAFA Racing Lamborghini possessed the pace to challenge for another podium.
Qualifying further reinforced those expectations. Chambers took qualifying duties for Friday's opening race and delivered another excellent performance, clocking a 2:07.976 to secure third in the ProAm class and twelfth overall in the 36-car field.
Teammate Ian Porter then took over for Q2, recording a competitive 2:09.016 that placed the car fifth in ProAm for Sunday's race.
Friday afternoon brought the first 50-minute contest of the weekend. Starting 12th overall and third in the ProAm category, Chambers immediately made an aggressive launch when the lights went out.
She gained one overall position on the opening lap to move into eleventh before quickly setting her sights on Joel Miller's Lamborghini, who occupied second in the ProAm standings.
An incident involving three cars at Turn 1 on lap two briefly threatened to disrupt the field, but all competitors managed to continue and the race remained under green. With clean air ahead, Chambers steadily increased her pace: running a 2:09.6, she was already quicker than Miller and rapidly closed the gap.
By lap six she ranked among the five fastest drivers on track; one lap later she converted that speed into position, completing a decisive overtake on Miller to move into second in the ProAm class after an outstanding opening stint.
Once ahead, Chambers immediately began pulling away, building a gap of more than three seconds while continuing to lap consistently. As the pit window approached, she continued to stretch her stint, briefly climbing as high as second overall as the leaders ahead made their mandatory stops.
When the ProAm leader eventually pitted, Chambers inherited the class lead and remained at the front until the very end of the pit window, maximizing every possible lap before bringing the #81 Lamborghini to pit lane.
After an excellent stop, Ian Porter took over the car. Following the cycle of mandatory pit stops, Porter rejoined second in the ProAm category and eighth overall, approximately ten seconds behind class leader Graham Doyle. Chambers' impressive opening stint had elevated the team five positions overall compared to its starting position.
Porter immediately settled into a consistent rhythm, recording laps in the low 2:11s while carefully managing the gap to the chasing pack. Although rivals such as Fuentes and Foster gradually closed the margin during the closing stages, Porter remained composed throughout the final stint.
Managing tyre degradation well over the closing laps, he secured second place in the ProAm class and eighth overall at the chequered flag, securing another podium for the RAFA Racing duo.
Sunday's second race would prove even more memorable. Porter took the start from 14th overall and fifth in the ProAm class. Disaster however struck almost immediately; an incident through the second sector dropped the #81 Lamborghini dramatically down the order, leaving Porter 33rd overall and tenth in class before the opening lap had even been completed.
Now nearly twenty seconds behind the field, the race appeared challenging. Porter however steadily began recovering positions.
An incident eventually triggered a Full Course Yellow after Van der Drift slowed dramatically and Broll crashed while attempting to avoid him.
The caution erased Porter's deficit and brought the entire field back together.
When racing resumed and the pit window finally opened one lap later, Porter immediately dived into the pits from 23rd overall and eighth in class to hand the car over to Chambers.
The team work proved effective and Chambers emerged sixth in the ProAm category, immediately beginning one of the highlight drives of the weekend. Her first flying lap of 2:09.3 was already more than a second quicker than the car had managed immediately before the stop and she then improved again with a 2:09.0, rapidly carving through the overall field and climbing to 15th overall after the pit sequence.
As some rivals encountered problems, Chambers continued advancing. Pit issues for Tandon and Brewer elevated her into fifth in class, before Siderman's delay promoted her again to fourth.
Running consistently in the low 2:09s, she soon found herself chasing Angelo Dinkov for what looked increasingly like another podium finish.
When both Dinkov and Morey were penalized for short pit stops, Chambers inherited third in class and immediately turned her attention to Nemschoff. She caught and passed Nemschoff on lap sixteen before setting off in pursuit of ProAm leader Seth Henry.
The American was now the fastest ProAm driver on track; over the next few laps she repeatedly gained more than a second per lap, producing her best sectors of the race and steadily reducing the gap.
A new personal best of 2:08.908 showcased her pace as the deficit dropped below three seconds with only six minutes remaining.
The battle for victory was suddenly on: Chambers rapidly closed onto Henry's rear bumper before making a bold move around the outside. Under pressure, Henry spun with just two minutes remaining, allowing Chambers to sweep into the ProAm lead.
From there, she never looked back. Opening an immediate advantage of almost nine seconds over Miller and Marcelli, Chambers comfortably controlled the final lap before taking the chequered flag to secure her first Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America victory.
She also crossed the line seventh overall after recovering from the back of the field in one of the most impressive drives of the season to date.
The outstanding performance represented another important milestone in Chambers' rapidly growing GT racing career.
Across the two races at Road America, she collected 27 championship points - more than any other ProAm competitor over the weekend - propelling the RAFA Racing duo to fifth in the championship standings with 56 points as they continue their remarkable rookie campaign.
With confidence continuing to grow and the team's pace now established among the class frontrunners, Chambers and Porter will look to carry that momentum into the next round at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on September 18-20, where they will aim to add further podiums and victories to an already highly encouraging debut season.
