Dystany Spurlock is set to take the next step in her stock car racing career after signing with Alpha Prime Racing's driver development program to pilot the #44 Ford Mustang in the 2027 ARCA Menards Series.

After switching from motorcycle drag racing, the 34-year-old American driver made her stock car racing debut in the opening round of the 2026 ARCA Menards Series East at Hickory Speedway. Spurlock finished an impressive seventh on debut and has since stepped up to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with starts at Dover Speedway and Richmond Raceway.

Spurlock will now embark on a new challenge as she joins Alpha Prime Racing for a 17-race schedule in 2027, spanning the ARCA Menards Series as well as the ARCA Menards Series East and ARCA Menards Series West. Across the three series in 2026, Spurlock made nine starts and finished inside the top-15 in all but two races.

After a superb debut at Hickory Speedway for MBM Motorsports, Spurlock remained with Carl Long's team for the remainder of her starts in the three ARCA Menards Series championships. Tackling a 1.5 mile track for the first time at Kansas Speedway, Spurlock finished in 10th position before getting her first taste of road course action at Watkins Glen. In a weekend in which she was slated to make her first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start, it was a challenging event for Spurlock as she adapted to another new discipline.

Two further starts at Michigan International Speedway and Pocono Raceway yielded promising performances as Spurlock stepped up to 2 mile and 2.5 mile tracks respectively. Her final start of the season marked her ARCA Menards Series West debut at Phoenix Raceway as Spurlock again visited a new circuit for the first time, taking the chequered flag in 14th position.

Spurlock joins an Alpha Prime Racing squad who are expanding their presence in 2027 ahead of a switch to Ford machinery. Co-owned by Tommy Joe Martins and Caesar Bacarella, Alpha Prime Racing have competed in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series under their current name since 2022 and formerly competed as Martins Motorsport with their first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start coming in 2009.

Alpha Prime Racing are enjoying one of their best campaigns to date in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series with Brennan Poole currently sitting in 18th position in the overall drivers' standings. The team are renown for supporting upcoming talent and drivers from diverse backgrounds with Spurlock set to continue her legacy of being the first black woman to compete on the ARCA Menards Series platform.

With Alpha Prime Racing switching to Ford and expanding their presence on the NASCAR ladder, Spurlock's addition to their driver development program provides a superb opportunity for both parties to support one another throughout the 2027 campaign.

Spurlock's debut for Alpha Prime Racing will take place in January as the Richmond, Virginia native will participate in the ARCA Menards Series open practice sessions at Daytona International Speedway ahead of the opening race of the season on Saturday 20th February.
