Esmee Hawkey will return to DTM in 2021, German team T3 Motorsport announced, in a renewed partnership after her rookie season when the British racer had scored points and made encouraging progress in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo sponsored by ROKiT Group.

Hawkey, 23, has previously raced in the all-female single-seater W Series championship in 2019 and then went on to win the Pro-Am title in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. After a few years in GT racing, Esmee stepped up to one of the biggest GT3 platforms in the world, joining DTM in 2021. After a single test in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Hawkey made her debut in Monza, as the popular German series entered its new era of GT3 regulations.

Despite a lack of experience, Hawkey impressed with outstanding qualifyings and solid races; she would score her first points in Assen, Netherlands, conquering an 11 place finish as best result of the season.

“In 2021, I loved every second, my first year in GT3 machinery and my first time racing at many international race tracks." - said Hawkey about her first season in the championship.

"I have learned a great deal with the T3 Motorsport team, therefore, I am overjoyed to be returning to DTM this year.”

“We are really happy that we can continue our involvement with Esmee", echoed T3 Motorsport's team principal Jens Feucht. "She absolutely convinced us in the past season and is a real asset to our team and also to DTM in every way."

"We are particularly happy to be part of DTM again, a series that we have come to appreciate as a worldwide unique race series. Therefore, we will be working hard to turn the entry of a second Lamborghini into reality as well.”

Building on her experience, the young British racer returns to the championship again with the crucial support of ROKiT Group: Hawkey will sport a black and white livery dedicated to one of the world's oldest breweries - ABK Beer - a ROKiT-owned brand. The Bavarian brewery will therefore benefit from the exposure in Germany's most iconic championship, this year strong of a eight-event calendar all around Europe.

"I’m so proud to be a part of the ROKiT and ABK Beer family and cannot wait to represent them on and off the track again this year", added Hawkey. "My sincere thanks goes to Jonathan Kendrick and everyone at The ROKiT Group."

ROKiT Group has been really active in motorsport sponsorship - particularly supporting female athletes all over the world. Partnerships include W Series, Tatiana Calderon in IndyCar, Japanese up-and-coming talent Juju Noda, a British F4 project aimed at launching the careers of male and female young talents, as well as Esmee Hawkey's program in DTM.

“We very much look forward to advancing our work with Esmee in the DTM championship", said Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of the ROKiT Group of Companies. "ROKiT and ABK Beer were proud to partner with Esmee as she made a huge step last year and we are delighted to be helping to drive forward the next step in her journey."

"The DTM championship is one of the biggest race series in the world and I’m sure this season will live up to expectation.”

In a 16-race calendar, the series will travel to circuits such as Portimao, Imola, Nurburgring, and a much-anticipated return to Spa-Francorchamps.

So far, Hawkey is the only female entry in the 2022 DTM season, which is set to get underway in Portugal after the official test days in Hockenheim in early April.
