Ginetta Junior Scholarship finalist Holly Miall, 15, will step up from karting to racing cars in 2023 as she joins Fox Motorsport in the Ginetta Junior Championship.

The British driver drove a Bambino kart for the first time in 2015, and made her race debut three years later in the Motorsport UK Club Race. Miall finished fifth in the BKC Honda Cadet Kart Championship before moving up to the Mini Max and Junior Rotax categories, contesting the British Championship in 2022.

She would then reach the final stage of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship last November and now the Chelmsford driver is set to tackle her rookie season in racing cars.

“I’m really excited to be stepping up to the Ginetta Junior Championship with Fox Motorsport this year", she said. "They’ve become one of the top teams over the past couple of seasons and I’m sure it will be a good environment to learn in and keep moving forwards."

"I tested a Ginetta Junior a year ago, but it never quite seemed in reach, so I stayed in karting, but making the final of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship last November made me realise that racing in the series was an achievable goal. To now have our programme confirmed is just brilliant."

Miall is supported by Digiphore, H&V Insulation Supplies, OJM Insulations and mindset coach Danielle Simpson. She joins Harry Moss in the team's confirmed line up.

Ginetta Junior is a highly popular choice for drivers to make the crucial jump from karting to cars, and has seen countless drivers successfully progressing to either single seaters and sports cars.

Among the many notable alumni, we can also find drivers of the likes of Alice Powell, Jamie Chadwick, Sophia Floersch - all podium finishers or race winners in the series - as well as Sarah Moore, who claimed the title in 2009.

Overt the past two years, Fox Motosport has established itself as one of the leading teams in the championship: Liam McNeilly finished runner-up in 2021 and Maurice Henry took race wins in 2022,

Holly will soon hit the track for testing later this month, having already stepped up significantly her physical training and simulator.

"I’m extremely confident that we’ll see Holly make big gains on the far more experienced drivers as the season progresses", Team principal Paul McNeilly commented. "I’m sure she can turn a few heads with what she’s capable of.”

The 2023 Ginetta Junior Championship will consist of eight race meetings, starting from April 8/10 at Oulton Park. The series will follow for most of the rounds the support package of British GT.
