Reigning Teams’ champions Fragus Motorsport will once again field one of the strongest line-ups on the grid in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, with Isabell Rustad set to return to the series for the 2026 season as she targets a major step forward.

Regarded as one of Scandinavia’s most promising female GT drivers, Rustad will continue with Fragus Motorsport after playing a key role in the team’s dominant 2025 campaign. The squad swept to the Teams’ Championship in commanding fashion, while Daniel Ros claimed the drivers’ title ahead of William Siverholm. Alongside them, fast-developing rookies Rustad and Wilmer Wallenstam made an immediate impact, finishing sixth and eighth overall respectively in their debut seasons.

When the 2026 season gets underway at Anderstorp on May 8–9, Rustad will once again line up in Fragus colours, this time with her sights set firmly on the podium.

Rustad’s first year in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia earned her encouraging results; despite it being her debut in the Porsche pyramid higher level after securing the Sprint Challenge Scadninavia title in 2024, she consistently ran inside the top ten and closed out the season in sixth place overall.

Her strongest performance came in the finale at Mantorp Park, where she recorded personal bests in both qualifying, with fifth on the grid, and the race, finishing an impressive fourth.

However, the season was not without frustration. Rustad repeatedly found herself narrowly missing out on bigger results, recording no fewer than 13 seventh-place finishes across qualifying sessions and races. Those near-misses however will only increase her determination heading into 2026.

"I am very happy to continue with Fragus. Last year I focused on learning as much as possible and slowly but surely working my way closer to the top. I finished well with a fourth place at Mantorp Park and felt that a lot came loose then. This year the goal is to build on the good feeling I finished with, and hopefully be able to fight for podium places", says Rustad.

Her preparations for the new season have not been straightforward. In October, Rustad suffered a serious knee injury during a gymnastics competition, threatening her off-season.

"I landed wrong on a trick and tore my cruciate ligament, damaged the meniscus and the inner ligament in one knee", she explains. "At the end of November I had surgery and spent the rest of the year on crutches and on the couch."

Since then, the Norwegian driver has been working her way back to full fitness while balancing her duties in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Rehabilitation has been steady, and confidence is growing that she will be fully ready when the lights go out for the opening round.

"Training is progressing slowly but surely, so I will be ready when the season starts", she says.
