Francesca Linossi will contest the next Italian GT Endurance series round at Mugello with Antonelli Motorsport, as she returns to the GT3 class after her 2019 ProAm title with the same team.
Two time Italian GT champion Francesca Linossi, 30, announced she will make an appearance in the Endurance series at the upcoming round in Mugello, on 16-17 July, in a GT3 entry by Antonelli Motorsport.
Linossi secured her 2019 GT3 ProAm title in the Endurance series with the same team, having partnered with Stefano Colombo. In 2021, she moved to the Sprint series in a EasyRace entry, alongside Swedish racer Daniel Vebster. They clinched the title in the GT Cup class.
In 2022, Linossi announced she will share the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup by Tsunami RT with friend Vicky Piria, at her debut in GT racing. The duo scored their first top-10 at Misano last time out.
“I am very happy to return to GT3 racing and above all to do it with Antonelli Motorsport, with whom I won an Italian GT title and in which I have always felt good" - Francesca said.
"It was a last minute decision after a couple of years in the GT Cup class, now I have to get used to the GT3 again, it's a bit different driving and that's why I'll do a test at Mugello next week", she explained.
Linossi is set to share the Mercedes AMG GT3 with Emidio Pesce and Jop Rappange.
So far, her plans after the Mugello round are not settled yet.
"For the moment, it is a one-off participation, I have not yet planned the second part of the season, I consider this Mugello race as an opportunity to return to the top class, but I do not rule out continuing in the GT Cup as well."
The next race in the Sprint series is scheduled for 1-4 September at Imola.
