British racer Jade Edwards will start her third season in UK's premier touring car championship BTCC, switching from BTC Racing – now known as One Motorsport – to Team HARD Racing, where she will drive one of the team's five Cupras.

Edwards, daughter of BTCC race winner Jim Edwards Jr, competed in the highly competitive Renault UK Clio Cup, where she was 7th in the standings in 2019, before making her BTCC debut in a one-off round at Silverstone in 2020 with PMR – becoming the first woman to compete in the series since 2007.

Edwards joined the grid with a full-time deal in 2021, scoring her first points at Snetterton.

In 2022, she had another top-15 finish at Brands Hatch and secured the Jack Sears Trophy win at Oulton Park, ultimately finishing fifth in the Trophy standings. Switching from the Honda Civic Type R to the Cupra León, Jade Edwards is now aiming to continue her development with Team HARD in 2023, rejoining the team after her Clio Cup successes.

“I’m really excited to be joining Team HARD. Racing for the 2023 BTCC season,” Edwards said. “I have been following the team’s progress for a while and I am impressed with their professionalism and commitment to success. I am confident that I will be able to build on my experience from last year and work well with the team to achieve some great results on track.”

Edwards will team up with Dexter Patterson, Bobby Thompson and Jack Butel, as she targets a strong season in the Jack Sears Trophy.

“We are thrilled to have Jade re-joining us for the 2023 BTCC season,” said Tony Gilham, Managing Director of Team HARD. Racing. “She is an exceptional driver with a lot of potential, and we believe she will be a great asset to our team. Both Jade and the team have come a long way since we previously worked together and we are ready to provide her with the best platform to have her best season in the BTCC to date.

“As a favourite with the crowd, we know that our fans and partners alike will be thrilled with this signing and we look forward to working with Jade again and achieving some fantastic results on track.”

Edwards will hit the track on April 12th for the annual media day, before the season kicks off at Donington Park on 22–23 April.
