Jamie Chadwick has been officially named as the Reserve Driver for Genesis Magma Racing’s WEC hypercar programme, following her first test in the team’s new GMR-001 last month.

Jamie Chadwick will step into a key new role in 2026 as the Reserve Driver for Genesis Magma Racing’s maiden FIA World Endurance Championship hypercar programme, following her first test in the team’s new GMR-001 last month.
The British racer spent the 2025 season as part of Genesis Magma Racing’s Trajectory Programme, competing in the European Le Mans Series and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with IDEC Sport in an LMP2 ORECA 07-Gibson. Teaming up with Mathys Jaubert and Daniel Juncadella, Chadwick enjoyed a remarkable rookie campaign in LMP2, securing three class victories — two of them overall wins — and finishing third in the drivers’ championship.
Her quick adaptation to endurance racing was evident from the opening round, where the trio won the LMP2 class and finished second overall at Barcelona. Chadwick backed that up with her first outright win at Le Castellet in only her second prototype start.
While contact for Juncadella denied them points at Imola, and a post-race penalty cost them a podium at Spa-Francorchamps, the team bounced back with a commanding victory at Silverstone in mixed conditions, reigniting their championship challenge heading into the Portimão finale. A third-place finish in Portugal sealed Chadwick’s fourth podium of the year and cemented her third place in the standings.
Chadwick’s impressive campaign earned her the first hypercar test at the wheel of the GMR-001 Hypercar at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, where she shared the 3.2L V8-powered prototype with confirmed 2026 race drivers Jaubert, Juncadella, Pipo Derani and André Lotterer. Over three days of running in both wet and dry conditions, the team started to explore the performance potential of the car, in an important step forward in the new team's programme.
Her test also places Chadwick in elite company, as she becomes only the second female driver to sample current-spec Hypercar machinery, following Lilou Wadoux's three FIA WEC Rookie Tests — driving Toyota’s GR010 Hybrid in 2022, and Ferrari’s 499P in both the 2023 and 2025 editions at Sakhir.
Chadwick will now support Genesis Magma Racing's inaugural WEC season as a Reserve Driver, alongside a yet-to-be-announced racing program.
