At the northernmost round of the Caterham 270R Championship, held at Knockhill, Cotswolds-born star Jasmine Shaw faced adversity and made the most out of a difficult weekend.

Starting the weekend on Friday, Shaw picked up where she left off by setting the eighth fastest time in Friday testing. Just before qualifying however, Shaw was forced to replace her engine after suffering mechanical problems, which set the tone for a tough weekend.

After qualifying 16th on the reverse layout of the track, Shaw was hit at the first corner, picking up damage to her rear-left suspension and falling to 18th. Regardless of the damage, the 20-year-old Brit made an impressive comeback, at a venue in which overtaking is difficult, rising to 14th on pure pace and finished there after a late safety car restart.

Moving back to the conventional layout for Sunday's action, Shaw was able to get her car repaired in time for race two. Spending most of the race in her starting position of 14th, Shaw then gained three places around the halfway mark to move herself up to 11th, a place which she valiantly fought for in the second half of the race, but ultimately finished 12th after being passed by Henry Speeks.

Hopes were high for race three, but heading down into Turn 1, Shaw was hit by Charles Chapman and was forced to take a brief trip through the grass and fell down to 15th. Following that, Shaw began fighting her way back up the order and was able to gain two spots as she headed in the closing minutes of the race.

With the leading pack having broken away from the rest through, Shaw was left to fight for the lead of her pack, leading to a 14th-place finish to round out a difficult weekend for the Cotswolds star.
