Jenni Sonzogni is poised to take the next step in her racing career as she prepares to make her GT3 debut in the Italian GT Championship Endurance series, joining Nova Race for the 2026 season.
The Bergamo-born driver will share the team’s second BMW M4 GT3 Evo with experienced racer Massimo Ciglia and rising talent Alessandro Tarabini, forming a well-balanced lineup that combines youth and experience. The Misano round, scheduled for 8-10 May, will mark not only the start of the 2026 Endurance championship but also a milestone moment for Sonzogni, as she steps up from GT Cup machinery into the top GT3 category for the first time.
Nova Race confirmed the trio as part of a two-car effort for the Italian Endurance series, which will also visit Monza, Imola, and Mugello over the course of the season. The announcement completes the team’s lineup for what is expected to be a highly competitive championship, featuring a strong entry list.
For Sonzogni, the move represents a significant yet natural progression after a promising 2025 campaign in the GT Cup category, where she raced Porsche machinery and demonstrated consistent pace and development. Her performances, combined with strong impressions during winter testing with Nova Race, earned her the opportunity to graduate to GT3 level.
“I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to be in the Italian Endurance Championship, and I want to thank FAEMS Team and Nova Race for helping make it happen,” commented Sonzogni. “Now I can't wait to get involved in this new category. It's my debut, and we'll try to get the best possible result.”
Team manager Christian Pescatori also highlighted Sonzogni’s potential, emphasizing her strong adaptation during pre-season testing and expressing confidence that the new lineup will be both competitive and exciting to watch. The Italian driver now faces the challenge of mastering the more powerful and aerodynamically advanced BMW M4 GT3 Evo in the championship's top class.
Despite the step up, Sonzogni approaches her debut with clear determination and enthusiasm. The Misano weekend will therefore serve as both a learning experience and a first benchmark in her transition to GT3 racing.
As the Italian GT Endurance season gets underway, Sonzogni’s debut represents the arrival of yet another exciting female driver into GT3 ranks.
