All-female championship F1 Academy announced it has partnered with American Express for the current season, with the payment giant becoming Official Payment Partner. In addition, the partnership includes a special collaboration which will see small businesses being fetured on Jessica Edgar's Rodin Motorsport's livery.

Edgar will sport an American Express race suit at the remaining rounds and her #17 machine will highlight branding from small local businesses at each race, as part of the American Express Shop Small campaign - a global movement created by American Express to call attention to the contributions small businesses make to their communities.

“We are thrilled to launch our global partnership with F1 ACADEMY for the 2024 season", Elizabeth Rutledge, Chief Marketing Officer, American Express said. "Powerfully backing communities is core to American Express' DNA. With this partnership we hope to continue to foster equal opportunities for women, on and off the track, while spotlighting women-owned small businesses and their impact on their local communities."

The sponsorship will be activated at the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, second round of the F1 Academy season, on May 3-5. On Wednesday May 1st, F1 Academy and American Express will launch the partnership with the “A Celebration of Women with Drive” event in Miami for its card members, aimed at celebrating women in business and in sports.

At the Miami Grand Prix, Jessica Edgar's livery will be showcasing Caja Caliente, a local female-founded Cuban restaurant in Coral Gables, Florida.

“American Express is a worldwide leader in the payments space and a powerful advocate for small businesses and entrepreneurs globally, and we’re proud to welcome them to F1 ACADEMY as an Official Partner", F1 Academy's Managing Director Susie Wolff commented. "We’re thankful to American Express for embracing our vision and for showing their commitment to elevating women in sport and inspiring the next generation of female drivers.”

Edgar raced a team and teal and purple livery with F1 Academy branding at the opening round at the Jeddah Corniche street circuit. The British 19 year old racer claimed her first pole position and her first race wins last year at the final round in Austin, before being confirmed at Rodin Motorsport for 2024. She finished fourth in race 2 at the Saudi GP and currently sits seventh in the drivers' standings.
