Jodie Sloss made a positive return to Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain as she secured a best result of seventh in the RS Am class at Silverstone. Driving for Toro Verde GT, Sloss made significant improvements across the course of the event and displayed speed to challenge for podium results within her class. Sloss qualified fourth in class and ran as high as second in race one on wet weather tyres, before the track dried and she settled for a seventh-place finish.
Throughout the 2025 season, Sloss has competed in Championnat de France FFSA GT where she has shared an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 Evo alongside David Levy. The Mirage Racing duo have been consistent frontrunners in the Am class and have secured one victory so far this season, in addition to five further podium finishes. Therefore, an appearance in Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain was a smart next step as Sloss returned to the home of British motorsport in a similar configuration of car, albeit in a single-make series.
Sloss joined experience squad Toro Verde GT at Silverstone where she competed in the RS Am class, a step up from her debut in the championship at Brands Hatch at the end of last season. Competing in the CS Am class to close her 2024 campaign, Jodie qualified on pole position before securing a podium finish for Eden Race Drive. Sloss had prior experience of competing at Silverstone, most recently on the Grand Prix circuit, therefore racing on the National layout proved a different challenge for her to overcome with a short lap carrying one of the highest average speeds of the year.
Sloss first got behind the wheel during a series of short test sessions which took place on Wednesday. Changeable conditions at Silverstone were beneficial in gaining valuable experience and at the end of the day, Sloss had set a quickest lap of a 57.971 which placed her in tenth position within the RS Am class.
On Friday, Jodie participated in two free practice sessions which were both held in warm and dry conditions. After a challenging first session, Sloss found significant lap time improvements in session two to end the day on a high. Setting a quickest time of a 57.117, Sloss was the biggest improver out of the RS Am field in comparison to Wednesday and this resulted in the Scottish driver ending the day in seventh position within class, less than a quarter of a second away from fourth.
Saturday’s action began with qualifying and Sloss was looking to continue her progress as she fought for top-5 positions in the RS Am class. After building up her times slowly in the early stages, Jodie found excellent improvements through the middle sector which saw her qualify in fourth position on her series return. This was a superb performance as Sloss improved upon her fastest time to a 56.734, almost half a second quicker than she managed in free practice.

The first race of the weekend took place on Saturday afternoon and Sloss faced another challenge ahead of her return to Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain. The heavens opened at Silverstone while the cars were in the assembly area and therefore a difficult decision was faced by the teams in terms of tyre choice. Sloss and her Toro Verde GT team opted for the wet rubber along with the majority of the field.
This looked to be a smart decision as the lights went out as Sloss moved up to third position in the RS Am class from her fifth place starting spot. Despite not conducting a standing start for almost a year, Sloss adapted superbly and moved forward into a provisional podium spot within class. However, her progress was then interrupted as the race was red flagged following an incident for RS Pro class driver Tom Bradshaw.
The race resumed for a revised duration of fifteen-minutes and due to the lengthy cleanup which was required, the track had began to dry in the intervening period. Nonetheless, Sloss was able to make another superb start as she ended lap one in fourth position. Jodie was showing fantastic confidence in the tricky conditions and on lap two she overtook both Jason Baker and Aimee Watts to move up to second in the RS Am class.
Those on the slick tyres then began to make their way forward and with a number of those in the RS Am class gambling on the track drying, this proved unfortunate for Sloss. After Matt Kyle-Henney made his way through on lap four, Sloss was overtaken by Reece Somerfield, Daniel Lewis and Karim Sekkat. Nonetheless, Jodie remained in second position of those within her class who opted to start on the wet tyres.
Sloss settled into sixth position and her pace was strong in comparison to those on the same tyre strategy. She maintained a consistent pace despite the track drying further in the closing stages of the race. As a result, Sloss took the chequered flag in sixth position in the RS Am class, second of those within her class on the wet weather tyres, to complete a productive return to the series. A post-race penalty assessed to Sloss for a yellow flag infringement subsequently dropped her to seventh in the RS Am class behind Baker.

The second race at Silverstone took place on Sunday morning with Sloss starting from eighth on the RS Am class grid due to her second fastest time from qualifying. Sloss held her position through the opening lap, before losing out to Dean Burden on lap two. The race was halted on lap three following a sizeable incident for Karim Sekkat and therefore the red flags were displayed. With the race unable to be resumed, the results were taken from the first completed lap and therefore Sloss ended race one in seventh position within the RS Am class.
The third and final race of the weekend took place on Sunday afternoon with the grid positions based upon the results of race two. Therefore, Sloss started from seventh position and she was targeting another fast start. The Toro Verde GT driver held her position through lap one, before she began her charge forward. After overtaking Aimee Watts on lap two, Sloss passed Jason Baker on lap three to move inside the top-5 of the RS Am class.
Jodie’s pace was extremely strong in the early stages, particularly through the middle sector, as she looked to secure her best result of the event. On lap six, Baker gained momentum and he overtook Sloss through the first part of the lap. Sloss looked to fight back at Luffield, however a misjudgement when attempting an overtake on her rival led to contact being made between the cars.
Sloss went into the Luffield gravel trap and following a safety car period, she was able to bring her car back to the pits. It was an unfortunate end to the event for the Toro Verde GT driver who showed excellent pace on her return to the series.
Although just missing out on a top-5 finish within the RS Am class, Sloss displayed good adaptability throughout the event. Her one-lap pace in qualifying was particularly impressive, along with her race starts. Sloss crossed the line as the second-highest placed RS Am class driver on wet tyres in a damp race one to underline her tyre management skills.
Jodie’s next event will be the Championnat de France FFSA GT finale which takes place at Circuit Paul Ricard on the weekend of 4th/5th October.
