Julia Landauer returns behind the wheel of the Alpha Prime Racing Chevy Camaro in NASCAR Xfinity for the Homestead-Miami race, with support from Shift Up Now as well as Web3 communities.
Julia Landauer had unfinished business in NASCAR Xfinity Series and finally, she announced her comeback for the October 22 round at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Landauer - two-time champion in stock cars with a background in single-seaters - will return behind the wheel of the Alpha Prime Racing Chevy Camaro after making her series debut last 16th July, when she raced at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “I’m really happy we were able to put together another race with Alpha Prime Racing this year,” said Landauer. “Although New Hampshire didn’t go the way we had hoped, I learned a lot, had fun in the car, and I can’t wait to get on a bigger racetrack.” In her biggest race to date, Landauer was crashed out early from the race and couldn't show her potential after impressing in qualifying. Her second chance comes with support sponsorship from Pippa Mann's led organization Shift Up Now, a fast growing collective of female drivers that is becoming a reference for women in the sport in North America. Having explored the world of Web3 and blockchain, Landauer became the first NASCAR driver sponsored by NFT communities and will again carry support from companies involved in that industry, such as OnChainMonkey, and House of First’s Remarkable Women NFT. She was the Skip Barber Racing Series first female champion at 14, before becoming a leading contender in the 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. A NASCAR Next graduate, Landauer competed in Canada in the Pinty's series and in the European-division EuroNASCAR, where she was the best-ever placed American. The Contender Boats 300 event at Homestead-Miami will be her second race in NASCAR's second-tier national championship, as she targets a full-time seat in 2023. On track action starts on October 21, with the 30-minute practice session, followed by single-lap qualifying. The race will start at 4:30pm ET on Sunday October 22.
