Having shown great speed throughout the ROAR Before the 24, Gradient Racing's Katherine Legge has qualified third in the GTD class for next week's Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
Katherine Legge continued her excellent speed from practice to qualify third in GTD for the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Gradient Racing driver held provisional pole position during the shortened session, before ending qualifying less than two tenths of a second behind pole sitter Parker Thompson. Driving alongside Sheena Monk, Tatiana Calderon and Stevan McAleer, the team will be aiming to improve on a fourth place result in last year’s event.
Ashton Harrison and her Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti teammates will also line up on the second row of the grid, following a lap from Kyle Marcelli which placed the quartet fourth. In a closely contested session, the Iron Dames set the 13th fastest time courtesy of a lap from Michelle Gatting which was less than seven tenths of a second away from GTD class pole.
In LMP2, Luis Perez Companc qualified the #88 Richard Mille AF Corse Oreca-07 in tenth, this was despite a small incident midway through the session. The team have showed superb pace throughout the weekend with Lilou Wadoux tackling the iconic race for the first time in her career.
The action from Daytona International Speedway begins on Saturday 27th January at 1:40pm local time.
