The Iron Dames duo of Laura van den Hengel and Sarah Bovy will tackle this weekend's second round of the GT2 European Series at Spa-Francorchamps with a new car, temporarily swapping their Porsche 992 GT3 Cup for a Maserati GT2 as they continue their 2026 ProAm campaign.

The all-female pairing, which marked the return of the Iron Dames to a dedicated international GT programme this season, enjoyed a promising debut in the championship at Monza. Driving the #85 Porsche run by SP Racing in partnership with Dinamic Motorsport, van den Hengel and Bovy secured valuable ProAm points while competing against the more powerful GT2-spec cars, securing a weekend-best of sixth in class.

Dutch driver van den Hengel immediately demonstrated her potential in the series, impressing with strong race pace and a particularly aggressive opening stint in Race 1. Alongside her, experienced Belgian racer Bovy played a key role in maximizing the team's results throughout the weekend, drawing on her extensive background in endurance and GT racing.

The championship now heads to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit for rounds three and four of the season, held as part of the popular Speedweek event. For Bovy, the weekend will mark her first home race appearance of the year in front of Belgian fans.

The two drivers will now pilot the Maserati GT2 due to scheduling conflicts, as their regular Porsche 992 GT3 Cup is committed to duties in the Italian GT Championship at Monza, prompting the team to seek an alternative solution for the Belgian round.

Bovy explained the circumstances behind the change and expressed her enthusiasm for the unexpected opportunity: "Scheduling and logistics constraints led us to this situation. Fortunately, we found a solution in the neighboring garage and I'm very excited to discover the Maserati," said the Belgian driver.

"I want to warmly thank Dinamic Motorsport and Roberto Pampanini, the owner, for offering us this solution. But no worries for our Porsche fans—you'll find us back in our pink Porsche from the next round onward and for the rest of the championship."

Beyond the on-track action, Iron Dames will also have a strong presence in the paddock throughout the weekend. Fans will be able to visit a dedicated Iron Dames shop featuring exclusive merchandise and items from the wider Iron Dames collection.

The team has also partnered with Laptime Belgium to provide racing simulators for spectators, while several fan activities and competitions are planned across the event. Van den Hengel and Bovy will meet supporters during autograph and selfie sessions scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 PM and Sunday at 11:30 AM.

Competitive action begins with qualifying on Saturday morning at 10:50 AM, followed by Race 1 at 4:35 PM. Race 2 will take place on Sunday morning at 9:30 AM, as the Iron Dames aim to continue building momentum in their first GT2 European Series campaign.
