Luna Fluxá will make her F1 Academy debut as a Wild Card entry at the 2026 season finale in Las Vegas, joining the grid for the final round of the championship with support from Visit Las Vegas. The 16-year-old Spanish driver will compete in the #10 Visit Las Vegas car operated by Hitech, marking another milestone in her progression in single-seaters.
Fluxá began karting at the age of six, progressing through the Mini and Junior categories while competing in the CIK-FIA World and European Championships, WSK and IAME Euro Series. She attracted international attention in 2022 when, aged just 11, she became the first female driver to join the Mercedes-AMG F1 Junior Programme.
Two years later, she was selected as an F1 Academy Discover Your Drive karter for the Champions of the Future Academy Program, where she went on to establish herself as one of the leading talents in the OK-N Senior category. Fluxá dominated the championship, securing the title by 125 points and becoming the first female driver to win an FIA international championship since 1966. Her achievement also earned her the inaugural F1 Academy Rising Star Award.
The Spaniard made the transition to single-seaters in 2026, beginning the year in the Eurocup-4 Spanish Winter Championship. She secured her maiden podium at Portimão before moving on to the F4 Spanish Championship, where she has recorded a best finish of eighth at Aragón as she continues to adapt to car racing.
Her performances also earned her a place in this year's F1 Academy Rookie Test, where she finished sixth-fastest in both sessions, further strengthening her credentials ahead of the opportunity to make her championship debut.
Fluxá becomes the sixth and final Wild Card driver of the 2026 F1 Academy season, joining the grid for the Las Vegas Grand Prix from 19 to 21 November. The appearance will give her the opportunity to gain further experience in an international single-seater championship and measure herself against the F1 Academy field.
Speaking following the announcement, Fluxá expressed her excitement at the opportunity to make her debut in Las Vegas: “I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be joining the F1 Academy grid as a Wild Card entry in Las Vegas! It’s an amazing opportunity and a very special experience that I’m looking forward to. I can’t wait to get out on track and make the most out of the weekend.”
