Following the news of Tereza Babickova having to withdraw from the upcoming FIA F3 female-oriented test at Magny Cours due to the injury sustained in last weekend's FRECA race at Red Bull Ring, W Series announced that Nerea Martí, 20, will replace the Czech driver.

After one season in Spanish F4, Martí made her W Series debut in 2021 as part of the Academy program. She scored her first podium in Hungary and finished fourth in the drivers' championship, as the best rookie of the year, finishing in the points in every race.

In her second season in the all-female championship, Nerea is partnering fellow-Spaniard Belén García at team Quantfury; she started off the season with pole position at the season opener at the brand-new Miami street circuit and has so far scored two podiums and 44 points.

Martí will join Chloe Chambers, Abbi Pulling and Hamda Al Qubaisi in the next FIA F3 test for most interesting female prospects, promoted by FIA F3 and FIA F2 CEO Bruno Michel in order to facilitate female entries on the F1 ladder.

“I am super happy about this new opportunity" - Nerea said. "I guess it's a reward for all the work I'm doing."

Nerea was already part of the test in 2021, at the inaugural edition of the initiative, when she was joined by Irina Sirorkova, Maya Weug and Doriane Pin.

"Last year I was there and it helped me a lot for the championship", she continued. "So, I am sure that this year that I have more training, everything will go better. I've been working hard this summer and I'm going to give my 100% and make the most of it."

Each driver will have a full day behind the wheel of the Dallara FIA Formula 3 car at the French venue of Magny-Cours, as the test aims to be an introduction to the category, its car and different setups.
