Nina Gademan joins F1 Academy field in Zandvoort for wild card entry

British Formula 4 rookie Nina Gademan will make her F1 Academy debut as a wild card entry at Zandvoort, representing new series partner The Female Quotient in the return for the fourth Prema car.

F1 Academy announced its third wild card entry of the season for the Zandvoort weekend - and representing new series' partner The Female Quotient will be British Formula 4 regular Nina Gademan.

“I believe the Wild Card entries present an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate what we are capable of in a field like F1 Academy", Gademan said. "I am truly grateful for this chance and for the support I have received from the F1 Academy and the Prema Racing team."

Wild cards were introduced in 2024 and featured on the grid at the first two rounds in Jeddah and Miami, with local drivers Reema Juffali and Courtney Crone. No wild cards were entered at Barcelona.

Designed to promote local talent, wild card entries are run by 2023 team champion Prema Racing and are supported by a series' partner.

F1 Academy announced its collaboration with The Female Quotient (The FQ) - an experiential, media, and transformation advisory company that aims to advance gender equality in the workplace - that will feature on Gademan's livery at Zandvoort, and will organize events and conversations about equality in Singapore, Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi during F1 Academy's race week.

“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to The Female Quotient for their support of the Wild Card initiative in Zandvoort", Gademan added. "I will give my utmost to showcase my abilities and make the most of this opportunity.”

Gademan is currently fifth in the rookies' standings of the 2024 British Formula 4 championship, where she claimed her maiden rookie podium with a second place in class at Thruxton. The young Dutchwoman is in her rookie season in single seaters, as well as her first full season of car racing after competing in karting and in select touring car races in the past.

She was the gold medalist in the Karting Slalom category at the inaugural FIA Motorsport Games in 2019, then went on to compete in the PTC Cup with a Citroen C1 and was best rookie, then took part in the 24 Hours of Zolder as part of an all-female line-up in 2022, finishing second in class. Alongside her racing career, Gademan is a well known esports content creator.

In her rookie F4 campaign, Gademan is making consistent progress and has secured her personal best finish last time out in Knockhill with a P11 overall, gaining five positions from the start in race 2. At Snetterton, she recovered seven positions to finish P12 - a result also matched at her home round in Zandvoort.

Nina was in fact part of a historic grid in mid-July, when eight female racers joined the British F4 championship, marking an all-time record for a mixed-gender F4 championship.

Having therefore previous experience of both car and circuit, Gademan is now ready to tackle her F1 Academy debut, under the F1 spotlight this weekend.
