Reema Juffali fought for the GT3 ProAm podium in the second round of the 2025 24H Series championship, the fifth running of the 6 hours of Abu Dhabi that wrapped up the Middle East Trophy, ultimately finishing just short of a top five in class.

Juffali, who shared the #4 Mercedes AMG GT3 with teammates Finn Wiebelhaus and Salman Owega, was in contention for the class podium until the final hour of the race, having run very solid stints that saw the HRT machine cycling from second to eighth during pit sequences, in a tightly contested race that ended with the second consecutive sixth place finish in two weeks for the Saudi racer.

Juffali had returned to GT3 competitions at the Dubai 24 Hours a week prior, where she also battled for the top five in the GT3 AM class despite a technical issue mid-way through the race that lost the team around 4 laps and cost Haupt Racing Team a better result. Nevertheless, Juffali showed she had found again her rhythm and ran strong stints, completing good passes on her second participation to the Dubai endurance classic.

One of the two female drivers returning behind the wheel for the 6H of Abu Dhabi a week later, Juffali and her teammates improved steadily over the pre-event testing and were eighth fastest in class in the official practice, which featured very small gaps throughout the GT3 field.

Qualifying followed on Saturday afternoon. In the car for Q1, Reema Juffali delivered a spectacular lap of 1:55.443, temporarily placing her in the overall top five and third in GT3 ProAm. She eventually finished P8 in the session and fifth in class, in a very solid effort.

Finn Wiebelhaus took the wheel in Q2 and broke the 1:54 barrier with a 1:53.414, bringing the #4 Mercedes closer to the class top three.

Salman Owega then ran Q3 and improved further with a 1:55.553, securing P5 in the combined GT3 ProAm results and 13th overall on the grid.

On Sunday morning, Reema Juffali took the start of the race from fifth in class and P13 overall. A chaotic start saw Sergey Sirotkin in the SMP Mercedes take the overall lead, while Juffali lost a few positions, dropping to seventh in GT3 ProAm. She quickly recovered, overtaking the Haas RT Audi on the second lap to reclaim sixth.

A spin under the hotel section dropped Juffali to 10th amid intense midfield battles, as she initially struggled with her tyre temperatures. Regaining her composure, she passed Konopka’s ARC Bratislava Lamborghini and the Zelger Dinamic by Tsunami Porsche to move back to ninth, setting her first 1:55 lap in the process. Her charge was slowed by the first Code 60 when Mikkel Mak suffered a tyre failure on the Scott Sport Lamborghini.

Some GT3 cars pitted under caution to refuel, allowing Juffali to move up to fourth. Staying out during this period, the race resumed with the #4 HRT Mercedes around 20-seconds behind the third-placed car.

By the end of the first hour, as more scheduled pit stops began, Juffali was battling tyre issues and fell to fifth when the #87 Winward Mercedes overtook her. Despite this, she maintained a solid advantage over the cars behind.

At the start of the second hour, more GT3 cars pitted, and Reema stayed out, briefly moving into second in class and seventh overall. On lap 37, she handed the car over to Finn Wiebelhaus, who rejoined in 10th but quickly found his rhythm, clocking consistent 1:54 laps.

Wiebelhaus overtook Vyboh’s Scuderia Praha Ferrari to move into eighth and gained more positions as other cars hit trouble and stopped on track, triggering another Code 60. By the second hour’s end, he had climbed to fifth in class.

Back under green, Wiebelhaus chased Merriman in the Era Ferrari and overtook him, advancing to second in class while moving up the overall standings.

A further Code 60 occurred as the 701 Vortex stopped on track. As the race resumed, Wiebelhaus climbed into seventh overall and passed both the Garage59 McLaren and the Attempto Racing Audi to take fifth overall, holding second in ProAm.

On lap 73, Wiebelhaus pitted for the team’s second stop, refueled, and handed the car back to Juffali. She rejoined in seventh and found her rhythm, steadily closing the gap to competitors. Juffali's second stint was a competitive one, and she moved up to sixth before another Code 60 was deployed due to an incident involving the 911 Porsche at Turn 5.

As the race reached the four-hour mark, several teams pitted while Reema stayed out, cycling into fourth place in class. She delivered consistent 1:54 laps and ran a longer stint, aiming for a different strategy to target a podium.

Juffali completed her second stint with solid, consistent laps and remained in the car as the clock signalled the final one hour and 40 minutes. She maintained strong 1:56 pace and reduced the gap to the third-place Ebimotors Porsche to just one minute.

In the final stages of her stint, Reema set her best laps at 1:55 before her last pit stop on lap 124. Salman Owega then took over for the final hour of racing.

Owega rejoined in eighth but steadily gained on the cars ahead. He moved into sixth by lap 138 and claimed fifth when the Haas RT Audi pitted shortly after. Owega kept it clean, and the team remained hopeful for a podium as the race unfolded.

With 12 minutes remaining, the 701 Vortex stopped again, triggering another Code 60. When the race resumed, only a couple of minutes remained on the clock; while Owega looked set to cross the finish line in fifth, he was caught by Azzam in the #21 Audi, who snatched fifth place just a few corners from the chequered flag.

Haupt Racing Team therefore finished sixth in class, mirroring their result from the Dubai 24 Hours.

"The start was really tough for me, because the tyres weren't really up to temperature", Juffali explained. "That's why I was happy to bring the car back in one piece."

"We had to work our way back up, but overall, it was a trouble-free race", she summarized. "It was all about not making any mistakes from our side and the team managed to do that. It is great to be back here, where my racing career has started in 2018. I have some fun memories and know the track very well."

Despite missing out on the podium, Reema Juffali delivered a strong performance, completing three stints and keeping the car in contention for a strong result until the final round of pit stops.

While the team didn’t achieve the result they might have deserved, Juffali gained valuable mileage and showcased her ability to compete at the top of the GT3 ProAm field once again, making a strong return to GT3 racing.
