Samantha Tan is set to make her Road to Le Mans debut with Team WRT in the #38 BMW M4 GT3, marking another significant milestone in her journey in sports car racing.

Canadian racer Samantha Tan is set to make her debut at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe for the upcoming Road to Le Mans round, the third meeting of the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
Tan, who currently races full-time in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge for her team, Samantha Tan Racing, will join Team WRT, piloting the #38 BMW M4 GT3 alongside Swedish racer Gustav Bergström.
Tan, who has always been open about her dream of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, therefore takes one step closer to that goal as she makes her debut at the iconic 13.626 km French circuit, supporting the 93rd running of the endurance classic.
Currently a BMW Motorsport Ambassador, Samantha began her motorsport journey in 2015 in the Pirelli World Challenge, racing touring cars before moving into GT4 competitions as a driver and co-owner of ST Racing alongside her father Kenneth. Her breakthrough came in 2019 with a runner-up finish in the GT4 America Sprint X West ProAm class, followed by a third place in the 2020 GT4 America Sprint X series.
In 2021, she launched her first international campaign in the 24H Series, winning both the class and overall championships in the ST Racing BMW M4 GT4, gaining crucial multi-class endurance racing experience and momentum.
In 2022, Tan stepped up to the GT3 platform and quickly found success with a victory at the Mugello 12H that made global headlines for being the first win of the new BMW M4 GT3. This paved the way for a full-season campaign in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup in 2023, where Samantha earned a class win and finished third in the ProAm standings.
Her 2024 season was equally impressive, as she narrowly missed out on the GT World Challenge America ProAm title while teaming up with Neil Verhagen. That same year, she claimed a class win at the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie, stood on the podium in a solo outing at Long Beach in GT America, and raced in the GT4 European Series at Spa-Francorchamps.
In 2025, Tan continues her steady climb up the sports car racing ladder by competing ni the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, marking her debut in the IMSA package and on her first solo campaign. Competing in the new GTD-X class, Samantha secured Bronze-class podiums at the Daytona season opener, before a double Bronze class win at COTA.
The Canadian will now add yet another prestigious start to her sports car résumé with the Road to Le Mans event on 12–14 June. Racing in the GT3 class, Samantha becomes the fourth woman to join the grid, alongside full-time entries Léna Bühler (LMP3) and Iron Dames Marta Garcia and Vanina Ickx (GT3).
There will be 116 drivers and 33 teams representing 15 different nations, with 16 entries in the GT3 class.
Two 60-minute races are scheduled: one on Thursday, 12 June, and one on Saturday ahead of the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
