After the first successful season for the NXT Gen Cup, mainly racing in Sweden and Germany, the series will go fully international in 2024. As the world´s first full electric junior touring car cup, NXT Gen Cup will join DTM and Formula E's package in Europe from Misano to Berlin to Monaco.

The series was born in Sweden last year and, in its first campaign, also held its first international races in Oschersleben and Nürburgring last season as support of DTM - and will be back in support of the popular German GT3 series for two weekends again this year, at Norisring and Hockenheimring.

The biggest step this year is arguably its partnership with Formula E, where the electric championships will join forces in for four events in Misano, Monaco, Berlin and London.

With the grid slowly shaping up, the first female driver was announced: Belgian driver Sita Vanmeert will in fact join the series in 2024.

The 18 year old driver from Belgium raced formerly in the 2023 IAME Winter Cup - X30 Senior and is a well-known karting driver. She also is a FIA Motorsport Games participant, where she won the gold medal in the karting endurance discipline with her team in 2022 at Le Castellet.

She now will bring her experience from karting to this new challenge, in the 100% electric LRT NXT1 and will get support from NV Academy, a programme held by Belgian racing driver Nico Verdonck.

"I'm stoked to make my racing debut in NXT Gen Cup and face a season racing on iconic circuits like Monaco and Hockenheim", Vanmeert commented. "It's going to be a great next step in my career and especially to race 100% electric."

"I've got plenty of karting experience but limited racing experience, meaning that this is the biggest step forward in my career so far", she added. "I know that it's going to be a really competitive field and for me this is all about building experience. Hopefully we will get some good results along the way and I can't wait for the season to start."

The first event will take place at Misano - where the series is currently hosting pre-season testing - from the 13th to 14th April.
