Tereza Babickova joins G4 Racing for Austrian FRECA round

W Series rookie Tereza Babickova, at her first season in race cars after a remarkable karting career, will join G4 Racing in this weekend's FRECA round at Red Bull Ring, as she aims to gain more experience in the F3 regional car ahead of the final W Series rounds.

W Series rookie Tereza Babickova has been announced as part of the G4 Racing's squad for the upcoming Austrian round of the Formula Regional European Championship at Red Bull Ring, as the Czech racer joins series regular Matias Zagazeta and Gillian Henrion - the latter replacing the injured Axel Gnos.

Babickova will therefore make her first FRECA start in Austria, eyeing some extra mileage in the Tatuus T318 F3 Regional car before the Singapore Grand Prix on the streets of Marina Bay, where the all-female championship is set to resume its campaign after a long summer break.

“I am super grateful to be able to take part in my first ever Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine round at Red Bull Ring with G4 Racing", commented Babickova, who has been steadily progressing in her first ever season in race cars.

"I’m confident that this race is going to help me gain more race experience just before the next W Series weekend in Singapore. I am eager to get to work and make the most out of this opportunity”.

Tereza started her karting career at 6 and has since then raced in the most prestigious karting events in the world - including the CIK-FIA World Championship and WSK series.

Widely considered one of the most interesting karting prospects, she was a front-runner in WSK competitions and led the ROK World Finals at Lonato in 2021, ultimately finishing third.

17-year-old Babickova was then selected to enter the 2022 W Series championship - effectively her first ever season in single-seaters - after assessment tests at Inde Motorsports Ranch, Arizona, as well as collective testing in Barcelona.

In her rookie season, Babickova has been close to scoring points in Silverstone, and has clinched a best finish of P12.

At Hungaroring - the latest round before the series' summer break - Babickova showed big steps forward and was steadily in the top ten in practice and in qualifying. An unfortunate race prevented her from scoring her first points of the season.

“After the arrival of Gillian, I want to welcome Tereza to the team" - commented Adrian Muñoz, Sporting and Technical Manager at G4 Racing. "She will be driving car #22 in the Red Bull Ring event as part of her first year in single-seaters."

"It will help her to gain more experience before her next race of the W Series in Singapore. We will support her in the best way we can to enjoy the weekend and perform well”.

Babickova will be the second female entry in next weekend's FRECA round, as she joins Prema Powerteam's Hamda Al Qubaisi.
