Vicky Piria is set to return to the Italian GT Championship for her fifth season in the series, embarking on a new chapter with the newly formed Zanasi Racing project as she moves to the Ferrari 296 Challenge platform.

Zanasi Racing officially launches as a new team entering the Italian motorsport scene with ambitious goals. Built on experience gained in the Ferrari Challenge one-make series, the team brings a strong technical background developed through years of work within Ferrari’s customer racing environment.

For the 2026 season, Zanasi Racing will compete in the Italian GT Sprint Championship, fielding four Ferrari 296 Challenge cars for a total of eight drivers.

Among the lineup’s highlights is Vicky Piria, who will drive the striking pink-and-black #203 Ferrari alongside series newcomer Giacomo Ghermandi. Together, they will represent Scuderia Ghermandi by Zanasi Racing.

“Racing with Ferrari represents the fulfillment of a dream I’ve had since childhood,” said Piria, who is also well known to the Italian public for her role as a Sky Sport F1 presenter. She will race on the Ferrari platform for the first time since transitioning to GT competition in 2022 and aims to continue the momentum built through several podium finishes and victories in the GT Cup class of the Italian championship.

Piria previously competed in high-level single-seater categories up to GP3 - now FIA Formula 3 - as well as the Euroformula Open Championship and Formula Regional. She returned to full-time competitions in 2019 with the launch of the all-female W Series, where she established herself as a consistent points scorer.

Following the series’ closure, Piria moved into GT racing and began competing in the Italian GT Championship, steadily progressing and eventually securing her first class podium finishes.

In 2023, she finished runner-up in the championship with two class victories in the Endurance series and continued to fight at the front of the GT Cup Pro-Am division in subsequent seasons. Despite a more challenging 2025 campaign, she returned to the top step of the podium at Imola and now prepares to tackle the Sprint series with new machinery alongside Giacomo Ghermandi, who steps up from touring car racing.

The season opener will take place at Imola from April 24-26, followed by rounds at Vallelunga, Mugello, and Monza.
