With P6 in race one and P3 in race two Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinksy ends a good season at Mantorp Park in Sweden in TCR Scandinavia with a podium.
The first race in Mantrop Park/Sweden saw an epic battle in the last laps between Mattias Andersson and Tobias Brink. Both pulled away of championchip leader Robert Dahlgren. Further back the group with Daniel Haglöf, Andreas Wernersson and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky battles for the places 4 to 6. No one of them took too many risks and just managed to bring it home. But in front the battle was on during the last laps of race one. Andersson drove very offensively and tried to pass the Audi of Tobias Brink twice until his last move was successful and he took the win by seven-tenths of a second. Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky brought home a sixth place.
The second and last race of the season was a championship-decider. Who would take the title home? Robert Dahlgren or Tobias Brink?
Andreas Wernersson started the race from pole position, Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinksy right behind him. Before the end of the first lap Mattias Andersson overtook her for second place and she brought home third place.
The title fight itself was over as Tobias Brink ended up in the barriers at Turn 7 and was out of the race. Robert Dahlgren finished the race on 4th place and won the championship with 29 points ahead of Tobias Brink. Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky finished in place 3 on the podium and ends a very good season on a high. She won her first race on the season opener at Knutstorp and scored four podiums. Overall she ended the season on a strong 6th place with PWR Racing.
The next season will be renamed to STCC TCR Scandinavia and will start in May 2020 at Knutstorp.
