Aurelia Nobels enjoyed her strongest weekend to date in the GB3 Championship at the Hungaroring, where the Hillspeed driver secured a career-best eighth-place finish and her first top-10 result in the series.
The Brazilian rookie consistently showed strong pace throughout the third round, fighting confidently in the top ten, making decisive overtakes, and moving forward in all the races. Although contact in the reverse-grid finale prevented her from fully capitalizing on another potential top-10 finish, Nobels left Budapest with valuable points and clear evidence of her development in the Formula Regional-level championship.
After an encouraging start to her rookie GB3 Championship campaign, Nobels arrived at the Hungaroring looking to continue the steady progress she had shown across the opening two rounds. The Brazilian had already demonstrated strong racecraft at Silverstone with two top-15 finishes before adding another 14th-place result at Spa-Francorchamps, where she continued adapting to the highly competitive category in her first season since stepping up from Formula 4.
The technical and twisty Hungaroring presented another new challenge, but Nobels adapted quickly during practice and immediately showed promising speed, consistently hovering closer to the top 10 in a tightly packed field.
In the first qualifying session, Nobels opened with a 1:38.098 before improving significantly to 1:36.8, climbing to 12th place and finishing just outside the top 10. She backed that up in the second qualifying session with a best lap of 1:36.141, securing 14th on the grid for Race 2 while continuing to close the gap to the front-running group.
Nobels lined up 13th for Saturday's opening race and immediately gained a position through the first corners to run 13th overall. The Hillspeed driver quickly settled into a strong rhythm and soon found herself right on the gearbox of teammate Dante Vinci, while also keeping Patricio Gonzalez at bay in a tight midfield battle.
Her pace was particularly encouraging, with Nobels setting a purple second sector; as the race developed, she remained in contention for a top-10 finish; unfortunately, her promising run came to an abrupt end when she suffered a puncture on the main straight, likely caused by debris from earlier incidents. Nobels carefully guided the damaged car into the runoff area and was forced to retire, bringing a frustrating conclusion to what had been one of her strongest races of the season.

Sunday morning brought a chance for redemption, and Nobels seized it immediately. Starting 13th, she made an excellent launch and was already up to ninth by the first Safety Car period after avoiding early incidents and capitalizing on retirements ahead. The Brazilian looked comfortable after two safety car restarts and pushed to move forward.
When racing resumed with just over 13 minutes remaining, Nobels produced another good restart and attacked teammate Dante Vinci, before picking up seventh place when Rehm hit trouble and slowed down for a technical issues.
Although Patricio Gonzalez later managed to reclaim seventh, Nobels defended maturely under pressure from Rodrigo Gonzalez and maintained control of eighth place through the closing stages.
She crossed the finish line eighth overall, securing her first top-10 result in GB3 and the best finish of her young campaign to date. It was a remarkable performance for the Brazilian, who showcased good racecraft in a highly competitive field.
The reverse-grid finale offered another opportunity to score heavily, with Nobels starting 13th. She again made a strong getaway and was already up to 11th before the first Safety Car. After the restart, she quickly resumed her attack and passed Patricio Gonzalez to move into the top 10 on lap four.
Her pace remained excellent, and when Kyuho Lee crashed at Turn 11, Nobels was promoted to ninth under another Safety Car.
On the next restart, she immediately attacked Peter Bouzinelos into Turn 1. Unfortunately, the two Hillspeed cars made contact during the move, damaging Nobels' front wing and spinning Bouzinelos around. The incident triggered another Safety Car, forcing Nobels to pit for a new front wing and dropping her to the back of the field.
With only a final lap remaining under green, she recovered to finish 15th, leaving the result unable to reflect the pace she had shown throughout the race.
Despite the mixed final results, the Hungaroring represented a significant step forward for Nobels, as she demonstrated genuine top-10 pace and secured her best GB3 finish to date with eighth place in Race 2.
Attention now turns immediately to the next round at Austria's Red Bull Ring, where Nobels will aim to build on her breakthrough Budapest performance and continue her rise up the GB3 field.
