Aurelia Nobels announced she will step up from F1 Academy to GB3 Championship, joining Hillspeed Racing for the 2026 season, graduating from F4.

Aurelia Nobels will take the next step in her single-seater career in 2026 as she moves up to the GB3 Championship, joining Hillspeed Racing for her first season in the category after graduating from Formula 4 and the F1 Academy.
The 19-year-old will make her debut in the highly competitive GB3 field following two seasons in F1 Academy, where she raced for ART Grand Prix with support from Puma. In 2025, Nobels secured her first podium in the series and recorded five points-scoring finishes, including two top-five results, on her way to 17 championship points.
“I’m really happy to be joining Hillspeed for my first season in GB3 and I’m grateful to the team for the trust they’ve placed in me", Aurelia said. "It’s a big step forward in my career and I’m excited to be moving up to one of the most competitive categories to transition to F3 and work with such an experienced and successful team."
"It’s going to be a big challenge to learn a lot of new tracks but I’m really motivated for the season ahead and looking forward to working closely with the team to push for strong results.”
Nobels, who holds Brazilian, Belgian, and American citizenship, concluded her stint with the Ferrari Driver Academy at the end of 2025 after three years as part of the Scuderia’s young driver program. She first joined the academy after winning the senior category of the Girls on Track – Rising Stars initiative in 2022.
Before stepping into F1 Academy, Nobels had already built experience across multiple Formula 4 championships. After a successful karting career in Brazil and internationally, she made her single-seater debut in the Brazilian F4 Championship in 2022, scoring her first points during her third race weekend. She later added ninth- and eighth-place finishes at Velo Città before moving to Europe for further opportunities.
During that same rookie year, Nobels also gained experience in the Spanish F4 Championship and the Danish F4 Championship before earning her Ferrari Driver Academy place. In 2023, she competed in both the Italian F4 Championship and the Euro-4 Championship with Prema Racing as part of the Ferrari junior program.
Her move to F1 Academy in 2024 made Nobels the first Brazilian driver to compete in the championship. She showed early promise, finishing seventh in the season opener in Jeddah before returning to the points at Zandvoort with seventh and fifth-place finishes - the latter her best result of the season. Additional top-ten finishes followed at Lusail and Yas Marina.
Alongside her F1 Academy commitments, Nobels continued to expand her experience by contesting selected races in the Euro-4 Championship, F4 UAE, F4 Saudi Arabian Championship and British F4 during the 2024 season. She claimed her first podium in F4 competitions at Lusail in the inaugural F4 Saudi Arabian Championship.
In 2025, Nobels returned for her second campaign in F1 Academy. After opening the season with a top-ten finish in the sprint race at Jeddah, she scored her first points of the year with sixth place in Miami and added another points finish with ninth in the opening race in Montreal. Her strongest performances came toward the end of the season, including a fourth-place finish in Singapore and her maiden podium, a third place in Race 1, at Las Vegas.
With winter testing preparations now underway, Nobels will step up to the more powerful GB3 machinery with Hillspeed Racing, as she begins the next phase of her development toward the higher levels of single-seater racing.
“Having the opportunity to bring Aurelia into our GB3 team for 2026 is a very exciting development for Hillspeed", Hillspeed Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw added. "We’ve worked with a number of talented female drivers over the years, and so we’re delighted to have signed Aurelia for her step-up into GB3. It will be a major learning curve, with a significant increase in power and aero from what she has been used to, but we’re sure she’ll adapt well."
Nobels becomes the second female driver confirmed for the 2026 GB3 campaign, joining returning Abbi Pulling at Rodin Motorsport.
The upcoming season will also feature the upgraded version of the Tatuus MSV GB3-025, which receives a revised aerodynamic and chassis package along with an engine upgrade from two litres to 2.4 litres. Once primarily a UK-based series, the GB3 Championship now visits several of Europe’s most iconic circuits, including Silverstone, Spa-Francorchamps, Hungaroring, Red Bull Ring, Donington, Brands Hatch and Barcelona-Catalunya.
The 2026 campaign will begin at Silverstone on April 25-26 and feature a total of 24 races across the season.
