Having made her Lamborghini Super Trofeo debut last year in the North American series, British racer Charlie Martin will return to the one-make series with Brutal Fish Racing, moving to the European series.
Following a really strong season in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, British racing driver Charlie Martin will return to the Italian brand one-make series, switching to the European division of the championship in 2023. The 2022 Vice-Champion in the LB class will in fact join Brutal Fish Racing, sharing the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 again with Jason Keats.
Martin and Keats - at his very first season in car racing - had a remarkable campaign in North America, collecting one class win and six class podiums, eventually ending runner-up after the World Finals in Portimao, Portugal.
"I'm delighted to be joining the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series with Brutal Fish Racing and continuing this incredible journey with Jason", Martin said. "We had so much fun and success racing together in the States last year, embarking upon the European championship feels like the natural next step,” she continued. “It’s a competitive and thrilling championship, which will be a great challenge that I’m very much looking forward to after the success we experienced in the North American championship throughout 2022, so I can't wait to get behind the wheel again!"
Martin has significant prior experience in GT and endurance racing, including the Nurburgring 24H at the Nordschleife, NLS, ADAC GT4 Germany and a few appearances in the Michelin Le Mans Cup in a LMP3 prototype.
In 2021, Martin raced part time in ADAC GT4 with Team Driverse, as well as claimed class victory at Silverstone alongside three further podiums in the Britcar Endurance Championship.
She has proven to be immediately at ease in the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 and will now have the chance to keep momentum in the highly competitive environment of the European championship, further helping the development as a driver of teammate and OSOM Privacy CEO Jason Keats.
“Charlie and myself have a really good working relationship and I’m sure that will benefit us throughout the season", Keats commented. "To see it all come together is exciting for all of us and we’re looking forward to another great season of racing together.”
The season opens at the iconic Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy on 5-7 May, before five further rounds at Paul Ricard, Spa Francorchamps, Nürburgring, Valencia and Vallelunga. The racetrack just outside of Rome will then host the 2023 Lamborghini World Finals on 18-19 November, where the top teams and drivers from the global Lamborghini series will gather for the prestigious world title.
