Doriane Pin has taken another major step in her racing career after being announced as a hypercar development driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, strengthening her ties with top-level endurance racing while opening the door to future opportunities in the FIA World Endurance Championship’s premier class.
As part of her new role, Pin will contribute to the ongoing development of the Peugeot 9X8 and is set to participate in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship Rookie Test in Bahrain this November, where she will gain valuable on-track experience with the hypercar programme.
"Joining team Peugeot TotalErgies as a development driver is a great source of pride for me", Pin commented. "Being able to contribute to the development of the Peugeot 9x8 represents a real opportunity. My goal is to learn as much as possible, fully integrate into the team, and bring my commitment and perspective to help contribute to the success of the project. It's a big step toward my goals, and I'm determined to make the most of it with the ambition of becoming an official driver."
Pin becomes the second female driver to be signed by a FIA WEC hypercar manufacturer in a development driver capacity, marking another milestone in the increasing presence of women at the highest levels of endurance racing.
Her responsibilities will include extensive simulator work and close collaboration with Peugeot’s engineering staff as the French manufacturer continues refining the performance of the 9X8 prototype. These sessions will allow Pin to deepen her technical understanding of the car ahead of her first official test outing.
Emmanuel Esnault, Team Principal, Team Peugeot TotalEnergies, welcomed the announcement:
“We are thrilled to welcome Doriane to the Peugeot Sport family. Doriane’s track record and dynamic approach make her a fantastic addition to our development program. We’re looking forward to the new perspectives she will bring as we continue refining the 9X8 and we are eager to see her get behind the wheel during the FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain this November.”
The Peugeot role adds to an already significant 2026 programme for the young French driver. After claiming the 2025 F1 Academy title, Pin is in fact set to return to endurance racing full-time in the European Le Mans Series, competing in the LMP2 ProAm category with Duqueine Team. Her campaign will also include participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Pin secured the F1 Academy crown following a superb 2025 season that featured four victories and eight podium finishes. Across her two-year stint in the championship, she scored points in every race she contested, having already finished runner-up during her rookie campaign in 2024 with three wins.
Before transitioning to single-seaters, Pin had already established an impressive reputation in endurance racing. She earned Revelation of the Year honours in the FIA World Endurance Championship after achieving podium finishes in LMP2 machinery and gained extensive GT3 experience across multiple international series.
As part of the Iron Dames initiative, she in fact competed in the FIA WEC, ELMS, GT World Challenge Europe and IMSA championships, building experience across a wide range of cars and circuits.
Her appointment follows the recent announcement of Jamie Chadwick joining the Genesis Magma Racing hypercar programme in a development role. To date, the only female driver to have driven contemporary hypercar machinery in official FIA WEC Rookie Test was Ferrari factory driver Lilou Wadoux, who has piloted the Ferrari 499P during the Bahrain tests twice in recent seasons.
