Maggie Webster made an excellent start to her AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship season by achieving her best overall finish in the series. The JRW Motorsport driver secured a seventh-place result in race three, in addition to two further top-10 finishes. Webster also claimed a trio of fourth place finishes within the Am class as she drove maturely on her way to her largest haul of points to date.

Webster returned to the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship targeting Am class honours after a strong debut season in 2025. Stepping up from the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, Webster adapted superbly to senior racing and challenged for podium finishes within her respective class from the outset. Finishing the season 12th in the overall standings, third in the Am class, Webster laid the foundations for an Am class championship challenge in 2026.

In preparation for her return to the series, Webster enjoyed a guest appearance in the Durley Garage Fiesta ST150 Challenge last weekend. Despite battling ABS issues throughout the event, Webster secured two top-10 finishes in a competitive 25 car field. Achieving a best result of eighth in race two, Maggie displayed excellent defensive driving and successfully honed her racecraft prior to the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship season opener.

After gaining valuable mileage in Friday testing, Webster hit the track for qualifying on Saturday morning. It was a consistent session of improvement for the young driver who set her quickest time on the final lap of the fifteen-minute session. Webster’s fastest lap of a 2:11.528 placed her in 11th position overall, while she was the fifth quickest driver in the highly-competitive Am class.

Race one at Snetterton took place on Saturday afternoon with Webster lining up from 11th position overall, fifth in the Am class. The JRW Motorsport driver got an excellent start and after avoiding contact at turn one, Maggie was up to seventh position. After running side-by-side with veteran Simon Horrobin to complete lap one, Horrobin cleared Webster into the first turn with Maggie settling into eighth position overall, fifth in the Am class.

Webster was confidently running in the lead group in the opening stages and this was testament to the hard work she had put in over the winter months. On lap three, she lapped within a quarter of a second of the race leader as she continued to challenge for a podium position within the Am class. On lap four, a fantastic move to the inside of Agostini on Luke Warr saw Webster move into seventh overall, fourth in class. As she attempted to pull clear, a mistake at Coram saw Maggie run across the grass and drop to 11th overall, sixth in the Am class.

On lap five, contact between Warr and Horrobin at the Montreal hairpin allowed Webster to move back up to ninth position overall, while she reclaimed fifth in the Am class. Now with a sizeable gap behind her, Webster could focus forward on catching debutant and fellow class rival Brady Pollock. A personal best time of a 2:11.917 on lap seven allowed her to close to within a few car lengths of her rival.

On lap eight, Webster almost drew level with Pollock down the back straight before the JamSport Racing driver held his position. Nonetheless, her pressure paid off and on lap nine, Maggie made the move to claim eighth position overall, fourth in the Am class. A consistent run to the chequered flag saw Webster finish in eighth position overall, therefore beating her career best overall finish in the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship. Webster also banked valuable points for a fourth-place finish in the Am class, narrowly missing out on a podium result in the first race of the season.

Race two of the weekend took place on Sunday morning and with the grid set by the results of the first race, Webster lined up from eighth position overall, fourth within the Am class. Webster got another great launch and she did well to negotiate a three-wide situation through the opening turn. At the end of lap one, Maggie settled into ninth position overall, while retaining fourth within the Am class.

Webster was running just a quarter of a second behind former race winner George Foxlow as she set off in pursuit of a class podium. Beginning lap three, Webster was just half a second away from sixth overall as the drivers directly ahead ran side-by-side. Webster remained in ninth position with David Nye now her next target as she continued to extend her margin to those behind. Now seven seconds clear of the fifth-placed Am class driver, Webster was secure in her position to underline her improved pace to begin the season.

A personal best time of a 2:11.347 on lap four was comparable with those ahead as she kept the lead group in her sights. As John Cooper began falling back, Webster became engaged in a four-way fight for sixth position which featured a number of front-running drivers. Although Cooper and Nye began edging away during the second half of the race, Webster will still consistently faster than those behind.

By the end of lap seven, Webster’s margin to her nearest Am class rival behind was over 10 seconds as she continued to run a measured race. It was a good end to the contest for Maggie who successfully maintained her position and took the chequered flag in ninth position overall, fourth within the Am class, to secure another good haul of championship points.

The final race of the weekend took place on Sunday afternoon and with the top-10 starting positions randomly drawn, Webster lined up from pole position. The JRW Motorsport driver got another good launch and she defended her position through turn one. After getting a little sideways on the exit of the corner, Webster lost the lead to John Cooper with the veteran driver completing the move at the Montreal hairpin.

As the drivers ran down the back straight, Graeme Colfer used his momentum to pass Webster with Maggie ending lap one in third position overall, second in the Am class. Gary Miller ran side-by-side with Webster into turn one and he completed the move around the outside. After reigning champion Alistair Kellett also made his way through at Brundle, Webster was into fifth position overall, while holding the runner-up spot in the Am class.

Webster was driving smartly around more experienced drivers as she looked to challenge for her first Am class podium finish of the weekend. On lap three, Maggie came under attack from Kacper Tomalewski and the JamSport Racing driver looked to the inside at the Montreal Hairpin. Webster held her ground at Palmer and retained the position before extending the margin through the remainder of the lap.

On lap four, Tomalewski made a move at Agostini and he cleared Webster to claim second position within the Am class. David Nye was now behind and the former British Touring Car Championship driver had just claimed the overall fastest lap as he chased a position on the Pro class podium. The following lap saw a recovering Jack Sant pass both Webster and Nye as he continued to show excellent speed on debut. Webster was now also battling a technical issue with the boost system which was restricting her progress.

After successfully resisting the challenge of Nye for a number of laps, he overtook Webster on lap seven with Maggie now in eighth position overall, fourth in the Am class. On the penultimate lap of the race, Nye slowed with an issue and this allowed Webster to move back ahead. A strong run to the finish saw Webster again achieve a new career best overall result as she took the chequered flag in seventh position overall, while securing another fourth-place finish in the Am class.

It was an excellent season debut for Webster who drove maturely at Snetterton. Three overall top-10 finishes, including twice beating her career best result, showed the progress which Maggie had made ahead of the 2026 season.

Webster will now be looking to continue this strong form when the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship heads to Silverstone on the weekend of 16th/17th May.
