Morgan Kidd finished on the overall podium for the first time in her AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship career as the JRW Motorsport driver enjoyed an excellent weekend at Brands Hatch. In the season-ending event, Kidd made superb progress across both races as she began the event with a sixth-place overall result in race one, narrowly missing out on the Pro class podium. After displaying excellent racecraft in the second race, Kidd secured her best ever result in the series by finishing in third.

Maggie Webster closed-out her 2025 season by adding to her tally of overall top-10 results at her home circuit. As a result, Webster finished third in the Am class championship after a productive debut campaign in the series. In race one at Brands Hatch, Webster finished in tenth overall, fourth in the Am class. Maggie was set for another top-10 result in race two before a technical issue limited her progress as she took the chequered flag in sixth-position within class.

Reverting back to the traditional finale location, the season-ending round of the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship was held on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit alongside the Formula Ford Festival. For both Kidd and Webster, the 2025 season has seen them make progress as they challenged for honours within their respective classes.

Despite missing one round of the campaign, Kidd entered Brands Hatch in eighth position within the Pro class standings. Morgan has enjoyed a strong second half to the season where she has regularly contended for podium finishes, while battling with more experienced drivers.

Following a superb job from the JRW Motorsport team, Webster was able to take her place on the grid at her home circuit. A sizeable incident at the previous round at Donington Park in which Webster rolled, saw the team face a race against time to prepare the car for the season finale. Nonetheless, it has been a superb debut season in the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship for Webster who sat third in the Am class standings, just three points behind second-placed driver Luke Warr.

Last season, Kidd secured a best result of sixth-position in the Pro class at Brands Hatch and she was now looking to put her build upon her past experiences. Webster overcame adversity during her first appearance at Brands Hatch in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship in 2024 with both female drivers aiming to take significant strides forward on their latest visit to the iconic Kent circuit.

Qualifying took place on Saturday morning and it was a short fifteen-minute session with low track temperatures. Kidd made a fast start to the session and she initially moved inside the overall top-5, while Webster built up her confidence as she generated heat into her tyres.

As the session progressed, the times throughout the field became increasingly close with the margins extremely tight around the top-10 in particular. Both Kidd and Webster completed a session-high 16 laps with Kidd’s quickest time of a 54.298 placing her in 12th position overall, ninth in the Pro class. Webster’s fastest lap of a 54.536 saw her qualify in 15th overall, while Maggie set the fourth quickest time in the Am class while being less than one second away from pole position.

The first race of the weekend took place on Saturday afternoon and despite an earlier rain shower, all the drivers had fitted the slick tyres. The track was predominantly dry, however there were damp patches away from the racing line and temperatures were still low. Kidd lined up from the sixth row of the grid in 12th position overall, ninth in class, while Webster started from 15th position, fourth in the Am class.

It was a clean start for both drivers with Kidd completing lap one in 13th position, tenth in the Pro class, while Webster held her starting position as the drivers started lap two. The drivers were still generating heat in the rear tyres and David Nye had a high-speed spin on the exit of Paddock Hill bend. Superb avoidance from Kidd and Webster saw them narrowly miss the spinning car with Nye rejoining the race without any significant damage.

Kidd was able to overtake James Pope as the drivers slowed to avoid the incident, while Morgan was soon into tenth position overall, eighth in class, after Simon Horrobin went off the circuit. Webster also gained a position in the overall classification, however her smart avoidance came at the cost of one class position as Ricky Glendening moved ahead.

The race then settled into a rhythm for both drivers as they continued to improve their times while looking to move forward. On lap five, Graeme Colfer was spun at Clearways and this allowed Kidd to move into ninth position overall, seventh in the Pro class, with Morgan enjoying an excellent start to the race. Webster was also showing good speed and on lap six, a new personal best time saw Maggie lap faster than the next three drivers ahead.

On lap eight, a moment for Webster saw her fall behind Simon Warr as therefore she was now in 14th position overall, fifth in the Am class. Nonetheless, Webster remained close behind Warr and this enabled her to improve her pace and run a series of fast times. In the Pro class, Kidd’s new quickest time on lap nine was faster than she had managed in the morning’s qualifying session to underline her improvement in race trim.

Two laps later, Kidd was quicker than the next three drivers ahead as she chased Sean Reynolds and Luke Warr who were directly ahead. As the race entered the second half, consistency became important as position changes were minimal throughout the field as the drivers weighed-up the best place to make a move.

On lap 17, Connor Blackburn pulled into the pits and this elevated both female drivers up one position with Kidd also gaining a class position to move into sixth within the Pro class. Webster, now in 13th position overall, then set a new personal best lap of a 54.729 which was on-pace with the overall leaders as she continued to apply pressure to Simon Warr, while also defending from Harry Hayes.

On lap 20, a series of incidents unfolded throughout the field which caused position changes in both the Pro and Am class. Firstly, George Foxlow went off the road at Druids and became beached in the gravel trap on the outside of the corner. At the head of the field, Jason O’Connell made contact with John Cooper which sent the series veteran into the gravel at Clearways. In the Am class, Simon Warr hit the barriers at Surtees and despite a substantial impact, Warr continued in sixth position within class.

As a result, Kidd was now up to sixth position overall, fourth in the Pro class after driving smartly and avoiding the incidents around her. Kidd held this position to the chequered flag to complete an excellent comeback drive in race one of the weekend. After Warr’s incident just ahead, Webster fell behind Hayes before a fantastic last lap pass saw her overtake Hayes once more and Maggie crossed the line in fourth position within the Am class, while securing a tenth-place overall finish.

The season finale took place on Sunday morning with the grid positions based upon the results of race one. Kidd lined up from fifth overall after a grid penalty was issued to Jason O’Connell ahead, while Webster started from the fifth row of the grid in tenth position. As the lights went out, Kidd was pinched to the inside of Paddock Hill Bend and she did a nice job to avoid damage, while Webster maintained her position in the competitive midfield.

Approaching Druids, Graeme Colfer spun and Kidd read the situation well to ensure no contact was made between the drivers. At the conclusion of lap one, Kidd was in eighth position overall, sixth in the Pro class, while Webster was in 12th position overall as she held fourth in the Am class. After her busy opening lap, Kidd lost some momentum and she was shuffled behind Connor Blackburn on lap two.

On lap three, Simon Horrobin slowed with a technical issue and as Kidd overtook her class rival out of Graham Hill bend, Ricky Glendening overtook the pair of Pro class machines. Kidd therefore remained in ninth position overall, while Webster benefited from Horrobin’s misfortune as she moved up to 11th position. A recovering Colfer than overtook Maggie, before Webster moved into a podium position in the Am class after Jason O’Connell went off the road at Paddock Hill Bend.

O’Connell’s incident did not necessitate a safety car period, however Kidd was now in seventh position as she benefited from the retirement of the Am class champion, while Morgan also overtook Glendening. Kidd was now making forward progress and following an excellent move on Blackburn at Graham Hill bend, she was into sixth position.

After enjoying some good battles in the early stages of the race, Webster began to battle a technical issue which was limiting her progress. As a result, Maggie fell behind Sean Reynolds before coming under attack from her fellow Am class rivals. On lap nine, Simon Warr, Harry Hayes and Marco Ricci made their way through with Webster unable to fight back at this stage of the race.

Recovering from his earlier issues, Horrobin overtook Webster on lap 12, before Maggie gained back a number of spots with a high-level of attrition in the season finale. On lap 13, Colfer pitted and after John Cooper pulled off at Paddock Hill bend, Webster was back into 14th position.

Kidd’s middle portion of the race was strong as she remained in contention with both Luke Warr and James Pope. After Cooper’s retirement, Kidd was into the top-5 and following a wide moment for Pope, Morgan began lap 15 in fourth position.

Now with a maiden podium in her sights, Kidd shaped up for a move on Warr as she got a superb run out of Paddock Hill Bend. Kidd got to the inside of the corner on the run up the hill into Druids, however Warr moved across the road and forced Kidd onto the grass. Contact was made between the drivers with Kidd moving ahead into third position.

This battle with Warr had delayed Kidd and now Blackburn was looking to fight back on the following lap. Blackburn attempted to pass Kidd at Druids on lap 16 with Morgan tapped into a half-spin. Superb car control from Morgan allowed her to recover across the grass with Blackburn remaining behind as he then lost out to Pope.

Now into the closing stages of the race, Pope remained just half a second behind Kidd as she looked to secure her first ever podium finish in the series. A fantastic series of laps saw Kidd hold on to take the chequered flag in third position overall in what was a breakthrough result for the JRW Motorsport driver.

Webster was able to re-pass Horrobin as both drivers fought separate issues with Maggie completing the season with a 12th place overall finish, while banking points for a sixth-place finish in the Am class

As a result, Webster secured third place overall in the Am class championship standings following a season where she took significant steps forward as a driver.

Maggie regularly stood on the Am class podium and came extremely close to securing her first victory within the division. Kidd ended the season with a career best finish as she drove smartly in an action-packed finale to claim eighth place in the Pro class standings.
