Christina Lam continued her strong rookie Trans Am campaign with two determined recovery drives at Watkins Glen, securing fourth- and fifth-place Pro/Am finishes to strengthen her fifth place in the championship standings heading into the final rounds.

Christina Lam continued her strong rookie campaign in the Trans Am Series with another pair of highly competitive performances at Watkins Glen International, securing back-to-back top-five finishes in the TA2 Pro/Am class during the eighth and ninth rounds of the 2026 season.
In one of the busiest weekends of the championship calendar, the TRB Autosport driver fought through the field in both 100-mile races, gaining seven positions on Saturday before repeating another determined recovery on Sunday to further strengthen her championship position.
The results marked another important step in Lam's adaptation to TA2 machinery, as she continued to unlock potential in the Pro/Am category.
Christina Lam arrived at Watkins Glen carrying momentum following the first rounds of her rookie Trans Am campaign: after transitioning from the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR class to the highly competitive TA2 category with TRB Autosport, the American racer had steadily improved throughout the first half of the season aboard the #66 Helium Mobile/CDR Chevrolet Camaro.
Her breakthrough came at Sonoma Raceway, where she celebrated the first two podium finishes of her Trans Am career during the championship's previous double-header weekend. Lam then backed up that success with consecutive top-ten Pro/Am finishes at both Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road America, demonstrating increasing consistency on some of North America's most iconic as well as demanding racetracks.
The visit to Watkins Glen International represented another major challenge. The legendary 3.4-mile New York circuit, renowned for its high-speed esses and flowing rhythm, hosted another double-header weekend, with two 100-mile races across Saturday and Sunday. With 34 cars entered overall, including 13 competitors in the highly competitive Pro/Am class, the event offered twice the opportunities - but also twice the pressure - to score valuable championship points.
Qualifying on Friday placed Lam eleventh in the Pro/Am category for Saturday's opening contest.
Lam immediately set about carving her way through the field once the green flag dropped for Race 1: delivering another solid drive, she steadily worked her way forward over the course of the contest, avoiding trouble while consistently gaining positions in both the overall order and within the Pro/Am classification.
By the checkered flag, Lam had climbed an impressive seven positions from her starting spot to secure fourth place in Pro/Am, narrowly missing out on another class podium but collecting another excellent haul of championship points.

The fastest lap from Saturday's race determined the starting grid for Sunday's second contest, with Lam once again lining up eleventh in the Pro/Am class. Facing another recovery drive, the TRB Autosport racer once again showcased the racecraft and consistency that have become trademarks of her rookie campaign.
Throughout the second race, Lam steadily advanced through the field, capitalizing on opportunities
and, after another determined drive, she crossed the finish line fifth in the Pro/Am category, completing a second consecutive top-five result at Watkins Glen and rounding off another productive weekend for both driver and team.
While the Glen did not produce another podium finish, the pair of top-five results highlights Lam's growing consistency against an increasingly competitive Pro/Am field. The Watkins Glen double-header represented in fact a valuable points-scoring weekend, reinforcing the progress made since the midpoint of the season, as Lam ran again near the front of the class.
Following rounds eight and nine of the championship, Christina Lam now sits fifth overall in the TA2 Pro/Am standings among 20 classified drivers, as the season enters its decisive final phase.
With only three rounds remaining on the 2026 Trans Am schedule, Lam will now turn her attention to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park over Labor Day weekend, where she will look to continue her strong run of form and further strengthen her position in the Pro/Am championship standings.
